We imported cheap products from Japan and our nation bought them. Then it was open trading with Taiwan, China, India and numerous other nations and it seemed that we built their economies at the expense of our own. In a way, this was a no brainer, because our unions were rapidly pricing themselves out of a job, by their constant demands for more and more and our American built goods became higher and higher priced. Because of our nation being lured into buying cheaper goods, manufacturers are now moving their facilities overseas at an alarming rate! Their choice has been either bankruptcy, or to seek out cheap foreign labor and other resources. This is also a no brainer, because we have now been thrown into a world economy and we must learn to compete! Then there was the technological revolution and for awhile there, we thought that because we were smarter than anyone else, our economy would be able to just run ahead of what was happening in the rest of our economy. This proved to be a fallacy, as our economy soared and then started to slide into a recession, while computers took more and more of our jobs. Computers did make us more efficient and more productive though and that took up the slack for a while, but then we started shipping more and more jobs, even high tech jobs overseas, because companies could hire those people for a fraction of the wages that U.S. workers required! Now, as we are in the process of building a world economy and it looks as if other nations are actually going to pass us by, we find ourselves faced with another complicated problem! - competition for natural resources and manufactured goods! So, we can fully expect our prices to go higher and higher and there is nothing we will be able to do about it, because we no longer have the manufacturing capabilities, or the resources to be self sufficient! We may look back to the Clinton days and say, The Democrats have the answers, but. do they really? Was Clinton actually responsible for those technological advances, or even the following economic decline? I hardly think so, but some people want to give him credit for at least that short lived upswing in our economy! And what actually happened to the rest of our nation during that time? What happened to our military strength and also to the moral tone of our nation during his term? Do the Democrats really have the answers? Do the Republicans really have the answers? Could change be the answer? Before Hitlers reign, the Germans were hungry for change. Did the change that those people initially supported, turn out for the best for that nation? We need to make sure who we are voting for and what we really want, because the mass confusion about what direction our nation should take, leaves us in a very vulnerable situation! I will vote for Bush for president, because he seems to rely on a power that is greater than himself, to lead our nation and I feel that he did as good as he could have done, with the circumstances that he had handed to him! He has also tried to set a more positive moral tone for our nation, has somewhat rebuilt our military and it does seem that he has a plan, while I am not sure just what Kerrys plan really is and Im not sure that Kerry even knows! Whoever our president is after the election, it is imperative that our nation remain under God because God is the only one that can bring order out of the confusion that seems to lie within the hearts of our people. When you vote on November 2 and it is essential that you do get out and vote, I ask that you consider the moral direction that you want our nation to go and then consider the moral ethics of each candidate, before you vote for them, because our nation will surely be led as those candidates collectively believe in their hearts and the things they stand for is evidence of that belief!
