Last week, the band Blackhawk - who played at a highly successful concert at the San Juan County Fair -spent their off time at the Hideout. They praised their treatment by everyone, so much so that they are inter- ested in doing something in the future at the Hideout. Hideout Director of Golf Jim Robison is in talks with the group for some future activity. Robison said they cant stop thinking about the Hideout. People are coming and staying to play. July saw 2,500 nine hole rounds of golf played at the Hideout, compared to 2,315 in 2003. For the year, the Hideout is up 761 rounds, or nearly ten percent, on 2003. Golf tournaments The Ivins gang upset the Thornton gang in the San Juan High basketball and soft- ball fund raiser golf tournament. Actually, the Northern Electric team won, captained by Eric Johnson and joined by Keith, David, and Tyler Ivins. At least 15 junior golfers will participate in the Junior Clinic at the Hideout this week. The next activity at the course, aside from free Monday night Driving Range, is a high school golf tournament on August 26. Nearly 50 golfers from eight schools will try their luck on the robust, green, beautiful, and breathtaking course.
