The reason? The 2,100 home, complete square-foo- t with four bedrooms, baths, sunken living tiled floors, and handroom, crafted amenities, was built by college and high school students. The 14 students, three from San Juan High School and 11 from the College of Eastern Utah-SaJuan Campus, completed the building in two semesters. Calvin Hunt, director of the Southeast Applied Technology College hosted an open house May 28, highlighting the new home. On hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony was Larry Forkner, of the Utah Housing Corporation, Dick Einerson, instructor, and the proud new home owners, Edward and Wendy Johnstun. Forkner, director of the UHC ECHO program, said the newr home is one of 16 construction sites where homes are constructed by students for low to moderate income households.
