Show Kigalia presents Diana Walker Blandings own Kigalia Fine Arts Council is proud to present Diana Walker. Diana was honored by Utah Michael Leavitt in Governor 2000 with the Governors Artist Award. On February 17, 2004, Diana Walker will bring Broadway to Blanding in the San Juan High School auditorium at 7 p.m. As the youngest contestant, Diana Walker was awarded second prize in the International American Music Competition, signaling the arrival of an important young artist. On that occasion the New York Times wrote, Miss Walker has the most impressive voice - a strong, beautiful soprano with a gleaming accuracy every- where in its range. Diana received a Bachelors of Music degree at age 20 and a Masters of Music degree with high honors at age 22 from the Conservatory of Music at the University of Missouri in Kansas City. She also worked on her doctorate degree at the Julliard School of Music in New York City. M iss Walker has sung with Opera Companies throughout the United States, Canada and Europe, making her debut at New York City Opera at age 26 in the role of Leila in Les Pecheurs des Perles by Bizet. She made her European debut with the Opera Company of Nice, France in the role of Blond chen in Die Entfuhrug cius dem Serciil by Mozart.
