Show Building a legacy at Legacy Imagery by Scott Boyle Ive always wondered how many vehicles pass through Monticello every day. I wonder about the people in those vehicles. I wonder what they think of Monticello and San Juan County as they drive through. Do they like what they see? Do they say, This is a great place? or do they say, How could you Shop home think? Steve and Debbie Anderson were that kind of people. They drove through Monticello on the way to Lake Powell. They liked what they saw. about during the Debbie remembers that first called business was run of someone passing through for the first time. What would I drought, business Legacy Imagery. The stand to live here? Ive always wished I could look at Monticello again for the first time, to see it in the eyes It wasnt Steve spends much of his time traveling the country, giving seminars, mostly in the oil and gas industry. Debbie began a job in graphic arts a few years ago in Denver. The two of them decided to come to Monticello and start a graphic arts trip. Monticello was this beautiful, lush, green oasis in the desert. It had the mountains and a temple. As the trips to Lake Powell continued and the trips mostly out of their home until just recently. Together with Scrapbooks Etc., they remodeled an old grocery store to house both businesses opening on November 1. They like the idea of sharing the building and especially like the tall ceilings. The business is a good match with Scrapbooks Etc. You may ask, Just what is Legacy Imagery? Their main product is photography. They can take pictures of any event you have: weddings, reunions, graduations, senior pictures, family parties, school events, motocross, etc. They take por- traits either in their portrait studio where we sat and visited recently or on site, anywhere you prefer. Next to us as we talked stood a long line of costumes for old time pho- through town multiplied, their interest in the place increased. They made plans to become a tos. Hopefully, some day soon, their married daughter and her family will join the Andersons in Monticello.
