The city completed a number of emergency repairs to the antiquated collection system in 2002 and it appears as if the repairs were a success, with strong water flows. U.S. Senator Robert Bennett was instrumental in securing $2.5 million to repair and replace needed sections of the collection system. However, concerns about the environmental impact of the improvements may delay the start of the project. City officials met with officials from the Environmental Protection Agency in the past week. Apparently, EPA officials have expressed concern that the proposed improvements may damage wetlands on the mountain. It is anticipated that the Monticelio City Council will discuss water policy at its May 28 Council meeting. Local city residents will anxiously await the results of the deliberation, which is to consider what the city should do with water restrictions. At the current time, city residents are restricted to two hours of watering per week. The restrictions are limited to hand watering of bushes and shrubs and no watering of grass. However, city officials stressed at the May 14 meeting of the City Council that city residents are free to use water from a well at the industrial park. , , Blanding Library. Ultimately CWD by logging onto the DWRs Internet Web site at most current information the animal was determined positive for CWD, which was the cause of death. This is the second deer in Utah to test positive for the disease. A deer harvested by a hunter last fall on Diamond Mountain north of Vernal also tested positive. Its important to remember that there is currently no evidence that CWD can be naturally transmitted to humans or Another excellent source of information is a national Web site run by the Chronic Wast- ing The US Department of Agriculture has agreed to provide a $2,054,000 loan to the proposed Blue Mountain Hospital in Blanding.
