Tough week for Bucks at 2A wrestling tourney byAnnaThayn The Monticello Buckaroo wrestlers closed out their season with four of their five participants placing at the state wrestling tournament last weekend. Cason Eldredge brought home a second place medal, followed bv Luke Martinez in fourth place, and Chad Butler and Robert Butler, each with sixth place finishes. It was the dream season for Cason Eldredge. First place at each tournament he attended, outBuckaroo junior standing wrestler awards, broken high school records, and an undefeated 45-- 0 going into the final match, center stage in front of 5,000 screaming fans at the Utah State Wrestling Tournament. The match brought 4,500 fans to their feet in protest, booing the official on several controversial calls throughout the match. Eldredge worked tirelessly in the match against defending champion Clint Monson of Millard. Eldredge led with 35 seconds left in the match when Monson made his first offensive move of the match, 3-- 2 scoring four quick points. Eldredge fought back, scoring an escape, and apparently taking Monson down on the buzzer. It was another heartbreaker for the Bucks in the next round as Butler came up short In his final match, Butler was unable to get anything working, and despite his effort was beaten 15-- and brought home a 6th place medal.
