Thursday Despite being pleased with the outcome, the Raiders came agonizingly close to finishing much higher. After beginning the tourna6 ment with a convincing victory over Escalante, the Lady Raiders faced the number one ranked Wayne Badgers. This time, it was Valleys turn to fall behind in the first half before mounting a comeback. It was all Whitehorse in the first quarter as they led 23-- 8 midway through the first half, semi-final- s. 74-5- 8. however it was Valleys turn to make the comeback and they slowly reeled in the Raiders. In the second half Valley outscored the raiders 4 in order to gain a spot in the championship game. With just seconds remaining in the game. Valley made a basket to earn a victory 25-1- over the Lady Raiders and send Whitehorse to fight for a third place trophy. Whitehorse faced St. Joseph Jayhawks for third. They lead at the raced to a 25-1- 6 half, but St. Joseph came roarvic6 ing back to gain a tory over the Lady Raiders. Despite ending the tournament with two losses, it was the highest finish ever for the 61-5- All-Tournam- Martin, who averaged 18 points.
