Eight lunches were served to appreciative people. The grand finale was the special Birthday Dinner on the 28th. Bingo and Souper Supper was on the 8th. The usual small group - 8 - enjoyed several games in which nearly everybody won something. Then they enjoyed Leonas ex- cellent clam chowder and other goodies prepared by everyone else. Ruby and Bruce Rogers won the most games, so will bring the soup in February. That will be this Friday, the 5th. Come join us in the fun. The bus is available. Just call the Center before 3 pm. We had a delightful time seeing the sights and having lunch at Dennys. We got snowed on over there. Our Craft Day on the 15th was canceled but we will try again at 2 pm, February 19. School Board gives up to $200,000 for Y2K The Grand County Board of Education has resolved to identify and fix the Y2K computer bug and they are prepared to spend $167,000, and possibly as much as $200,000, in the to initiate the proeffort. The school board gave the cess of replacing 118, or approximately 13, of the Districts computer systems and basic operating software. An investigation into the Districts vulnerability to the computer system bug looked at not only desktop computers and other machines which people normally think of as computers, but also microprocessors imbedded in a wide variety of machine. The good news is that most of these machines with imbedded chips appear to have no problem with the double zero of the new millennium. The heating and cooling systems for District buildings are computer controlled and those systems will be replaced. Moab - go-ahe- ad Times Independent ARE YOU CONCERNED WITH THE ENVIRONMENT?
