OUDEN n CITY cin COUNCIL passes franchise over mayor glassmann glassmans Class Glass mans veto the meeting ot of the city council last night was short but sweet for anyone who was desirous of 0 the bicycle races the glove coo test or hom eth ing of that nature communications from the mayor were read and acted upon and this wound up the session the communication was rela tive to the city reco recorders iders statements regarding the chanca in the tute franchises and was disposed of as stated in another column of issue of the state journal the mayor returned the resolution relative to the publication ot of the proposed water franchise 0 of the citizens company saying that they had already been published in ip the dally daily papers and that there would be no need of 0 any additional expense his highness also returned the damberger franchise without his signature and approval op the franchise was passed over his veto however by a unanimous vote vole lie in voting the franchise tork took exception to the term of fifty years aud and stated that he be was opposed to anything longer than a thirty year franchise at this polut point davidson moved that the council adjourn adoure until tonight and an adjournment was taken accordingly utah state journal
