Activities this week included daily exercise, daily newspaper, volleyball, music, movie "The Miracle Worker, cookingcandy, nail manicures, bingo, Baptist Bible Hour with Wayne Fults; senior citizen bus ride with Terri Palmer. On our bus ride Wednesday, we went to Westwater and kept going west until we reached Milk Point Ranch. It was very pretty. We couldnt find any milk, though, so Lisa, our guide, brought out some of root beer. We her home-ma- de we could and then redrank all turned home. It was very rugged country and we got tired but it was enjoyable. We enjoyed another picnic It on the patio. Tuesday was a beautiful day and we are pleased to take advantage of all the sunshine we can before the snow flies. Ralph and Dick Howe were so kind to come up from Bluff to entertain us. They played the piano and guitar and continued playing through our meal. We enjoyed it so much! Thank you Ralph and Dick. Please come again. On Thursday, Austin Lyman, Kathleen Lyman, Rachel Black, and Adeline Lehi went on their trip. They went to Las Vegas to see the sights. Then they went on to Salt Lake to participate in the Muscular Dystrophy On Sunday they all Telethon. worked on the telephones at the telethon. On Monday, Adeline Pat Seltzer, an English teacher at San Juan High School for five (5) years and now teaching at Monument Valley High School, is the San Juan School District Teacher of The Year. Pat has taught in the District for "only five years and yet has had more influence on Disthan many trict programs teachers do in twenty years. Pat quickly became the chairperson of the Language Arts Division at San Juan High School. Her enthusiasm and leadership brought about many changes that have improved student performance and have made the English Department into a very strong and creative influence at San Juan High School. She has served on a variety of --District curriculum and leadership committees. Herpro-fession- al example has been a strong influence on many policy making committees, the most one being the Career recent Ladder Committee. This school year finds Pat in the new Monument Valley High School teaching English. Her husband. Jack also teaches at Monument Valley High School. The Seltzers are the parents of two daughters.
