Show THE SAN JUAN RECORD Wednesday February 8, 1984 by Florence Galbraith Dora and Frank Wright have returned after a delightful week in the San Diego area visiting their children, fed Wright and and their Dorothy Bishop Sylvan and Jeanie Johnson arrived home this week after visiting in parts of California and spending a few days at Mesa, They were gone about two weeks and one of Je antes sisters accompanied them. They came home earlier than expected due of the sudden illness of their daughter Laurel Reed who is at the University Medical Center in Salt Lake City. Sylvan andl Jeanie are caring for the four Reed children. families. They report that the lawns are green and flowers are in bloom but that it is nice to be back where the sky is blue, the air clean and the sun shines - Page 10 easily the machinery was gently landed .and unhitched. Then off went the helicopter for another load. Looks like some drilling 'wiU soon take place. Appeared to be quite a crew at the landing area. Gail Hawkins, the daughter of the Stanley Hawkins, has received a call to serve an LDS mission in Spokane, Washington area. She will enter the mission home on March 22. The Fifth Ward Cub Scout 8 banquet wiU be held February in the South Cultural Hall. The Boy Scout banquet will be held on Thursday, February 9. The Holly Vowells and Dave and Freeda Guymon were in St. George last Sunday for the ordination of their grandson Todd Vowell, son of Tom and Beverly The Guymons and Vowell. returned home on VoweUs Monday. It was good to see Dave and he seems to be doing very well after his recent hip surgery. . brightly. Graveside services for the newborn infant daughter of Kim and Candy Keonard was held on January 30 at the Blanding City Cemetary. Our hearts go out to them at this time. Grace Shumway was very pleased when her son Dr. Gary Shumway and family arrived from Anaheim, California for a visit. While there, Gary consolidated plans to bring his Boy Scout group here for several weeks this summer. He has told the Scouts so much about San Juan that they are very enthusiastic about coming and are busy with fund raising projects to finance the trip. Grace was also visited by her daughter Shannon, and her husband Harold Hammond, from Pioche, Nevada. Guen Smith called GlenDora Galbraith in Provo on Thursday to wish her happy birthday and GlenDora told Guen that Gordon Galbraith and his wife just received a visit from the stork a girl. How nice to have a new grandchild born on your birthday. . GlenDora runs a convalescent home in Provo. Myrtle and Ron Davis were in Salt Lake last week for a medical checkup for Ron. They stayed with their daughter Dorothy, and her Merlin Olsen visits a tiny patient at theNewborn Intensive Care Unit at Primary Childrens Hospital in Salt Lake City. We are San Juan. most lucky here-i- n A niece writes from Mesa, Arizona that she sees former San Juan residents, Clyde and Gloria Jensen often. She wrote that recently they visited Darwin and Mozelle Jones and Minnie Johnson and that they seem happy, stiU have their radiant smiles, and that they would soon be moving from Apache Junction (just out of Mesa) to BuU Head City. Our niece also reports that they have Thora Bradford at the seen Temple. The senior citizen bus. riders on Tuesday saw unusual activity on the road to Johnson Creek.
