Steffen of Monticello, who just completed his junior year at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas, is among 66 students chosen to counsel incoming freshmen and transfer students during summer orientation sessions at the University. EUBANKS, son of Wilbur and Myrtalene Eubanks of Blanding, has graduated from the U.S. Air Force communications equipment repair course at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas. Contestants from throughout the state wiU compete in five judging categories for the state title. All contestants are between 14 and 18 years of age, maintain at least a B" grade average in school and contribute time to charitable and civic endeavors. They are the parents of five children. Bill and LaRene spent the first few years of their marriage in New California and Mexico, Nevada and then moved to Blanding where they have lived since. They have both been active in the Latter Day Saints Church, LaRene in the Relief Society and . and many organist Bill in the scouting programs and as high priests group leader.
