Lucinda Willis received visits from Ferd and Jo Johnson, Dick and Lena Stocks of Moab and Chet Johnson. Visiting DeUa Bronson were Eddie and Dawn Boyle of They took DeUa for MonficeUo. a ride. 1983 Southeast Utah division of the annual quilt show sponsored by Utah State Univer- sity (USU) wiU be held during the 4th of July celebration in Blanding. There will be three classes, with one Class m, three Class II and six Class I quilts eligible for compeition in the state contest in Logan. Contestants must be a Utah resident and have finished the quilt within the last three years. The quilt must not have been entered in a previous USU quilt contest. Class I quilts may be pieced, hand embroidered, hand appli-qui- ed or a combination of these methods using firmly woven 1.89 lb. .........1.99 lb. 1.69 lb. 1. 79 lb. 1. 19 lb. Red Cunningham remains in Southwest Memorial Hospital in Cortez and would appreciate hearing from his friends. EmUy Woodard visited Donna Gilroy and the residents. Guen Smith visited with some of theNH residents and brought, birthday carnations for Laura Hawkins, Lucinda WiUis and Kathryn Carter. Activities this past week included a birthday cake for Lucinda WiUis 90th birthday and also for Kathryn Carter, popcorn, bingo, piano music, poker, reminiscent therapy, exercise class. We went to MonticeUo on Monday. Lee Smith, who was planning to operate an aviation service in the terminal, said he would agree to work out of a hangar until the agreement is finalized. The Blanding City dump has been improved the past month. Many hours of work with heavy equipment by John Seeley has made the dump cleaner and easier to reach. Bradford presented Mayor some figures showing the per capita eenditures for groceries in the county. The figures show that $209 was spent per person in the three month period at the end of 1982 as compared to $303 per person in the Monticello area. Based on dollars spent per capita for just those within city limits, the difference is even greater with $297 per person in Blanding and $476.93 inMonticeUo. Mayor Bradford said he felt this indicates there is money leaving the city which could be spent here and he feels the council should be actively involved in economic development. The city economic development committee will be invited to meet with the council on March 9. AH vegetables ' except green peppers should be blanched or heated before freezing.
