Kermit Blake and Joel Tate families had a bowling bash last weekend at the Sunshine Lanes in Monticello. The affair was to honor four of the Wilcox boys, whose birthdays all come in February. All cub scouts of the 3rd and 4th wards are requested to wear their uniforms on Sunday, February 14, as they will be participating in presentations during the Primary period. The 7th ward cub scouts will wear their uniforms on February 21. years ago in organized America. The adult Great Books reading group will meet February 17 at the Blanding library at 8 p.m. to discuss the book Time Machine" by Orson Wells. Anyone who has read this book is invited to attend. A reverence campaign is underway in various LDS wards. Parents are asked to stress reverence to their children and set good examples. Thelma Evans spent the weekend in Provo wfth her daughter and Ann and Don Eldredge, and family. She visited with the family enroute to St. George where she will be an worker in the St. ordinance George Temple. She is the mother of Mrs. Craig Redd of Blanding. Teek" Lyman, who spent a few days last week in the San Juan Hospital in Monticello, is back at the nursing home feeling much improved. The Dan Barfuss family spent the weekend in northern Utah on business and attending workshops pertaining to their positions. Melanie Black of Salt Lake City was a weekend visitor at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Black. George ' . and Reed Martineau Gary Lyman recently returned from a business trip to Salt Lake City.. Marge Lyman spent several days in Paradox, Colorado, last week visiting with her sister, Mrs. Luella Rogers. Luellas husband, John, has been confined in the hospital. Lucille Wright was taken to Salt Lake City for medical attenson-in-la- w, tion. The Melvin Wright family has moved into their new home in the extreme eastern section of town. They are recent arrivals from Arizona, than a second each. In second place was Michele Ivans, grade six, with 2 minutes and 6 seconds. Tying for third were Mark Nielson and Elizabeth Austin with two minutes and 9 Elementary School Blanding held its second multiplication contest between grades tables 4-- 6. Each classroom began its runoffs three weeks ago and then each grade held a competition. Five winners from each grade vied Monday for the top five winners. Because of ties, nine were selected. The students are timed seconds. Fourth was David Turk and Andrea Seltzer, two minutes and 15 seconds. Fifth was Robert Nielson and Daryl Guymon grades four and five, respectively; Fifth was Michael Bowring, grade four. on one hundred multiplication tables, all mixed up.
