Two factors combine to keep our rates where they are; a very health conscious citizenry and a very conscienteous group of physicians and administrators and a well trained work force, said Chairman Beck. In Utah we are regulated by some 40 outside agencies plus those of state and local government. We estimate this increases costs by 15 to 20 percent in our state', but in other states it is worse. The Federal much over that is government learning zealous regulation of the hospital industry does nothing but add additional costs to the delivery of health care. As an Association we need to work together to support legislation that is in the interest of our citizens, but. to oppose with vigor those who would price our patrons, out of our facilities with unnecessary and said harrassing regulations, Beck. Our lawmakers, the leg- islature, understand our position. We are confident that they wiU continue to give us the support we need to protect the health care interests of the state of Utah in 1981.
