The 1980 theme for the annual event, is Planting...caring.. and now, a Beautiful Harvest. Class groups and individuals will compete in an afternoon powwow scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. during which a variety of traditional Navajo songs and dances will be performed. Also, Liz Brown of Blanding and Governor Scott Mathe-so- n at opening ceremonies of the 1980 Utah Arts Festival . Blanding banner presented to state at Utah Arts Festival Brown of Blanding participated in the opening ceremonies of the 1980 Utah Arts Liz Festival presenting a 5xl2 banner to Gov. Scott Matheson. The banner was one of several commissioned throughout the state, designed to represent individual communities. The ceremony took place on the main stage of the arts festival, at 1st South and West Temple Streets in Salt Lake City.
