The length of road to be constructed or improved is 28.386 miles, and the principal items of work are approximately as follows: 568 Tons of Bituminous Material Grade XRS-- 2, 472,800 Sq. Yds. of Cover Material (State Furnished) Type A RS-03- 3) 70 Gals, of Highway Traffic Paint. The project is to be com1090 and pleted in 20 working days. Prequalification of bidders is required. Prior to any bidder's receiving plans and specifications, it will be necessary that the bidder have on file with the Utah Department of Transportation completed and approved, the required Statement Prequalification pertaining to contractor's experience and financial condition. The attention of bidders is directed to the Special Pro- visions covering subletting or assigning the contract. In conformity with the Federal-aid Highway Act of 1968 the U.S. Department of Labor lias certified the wage rates for this project which are the minimum wages to be paid on this project. These rates are made a part of the contract documents. The attention of bidders is directed to the fact that this Department has been advised by the Wage and Hour Division, U.S. Department of Labor, that contractors engaged in highway construction work are re- quired to meet the provisions oi the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 (52 Stat. 1060). The Utah Department of Transportation, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252) and the Regulations of the Department of Commerce (15 C.F.R. Part 8), issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that the contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement will be awarded to the low'est responsible bidder without discrimination on the grounds of race, color or national origin.
