Leida Yazzies was the 16th. Everyone sang and Lucy Birthday Happy a big made our cook, Harris, decorall white birthday cake ated in pink. Leida was given a box of candy which she shared with all the patients and a card with ail the patients names on it. We sang some of the songs she liked. Leida has been confined to a wheel- chair for years. Mamie Fellmeth's daughter-in-law, Judy, came to the on Saturday and Home Nursing while spent a visiting. Dora Page had company. Blanding, Utah ter visit his sister, Irene Rowher. Donna Eubanks, a L.P.N. at the home, spent part of her last evening singing and playing the guitar for the patients. She left the weekend of the 4th to move to Salt Lake. She will be working up there and plans to attend some college classes in the fall. Nancy - Butt, a housekeeper at the home, will drive her son, Private James Gray, to Farmington where he will take the plane back to Fort Hood, Texas. Mr. and Mrs. Delores Hurst were here to visit with his mother, Retta Hurst. Laura Pehrson had a host of relatives here at the Nursing Home Sunday night. Fern and Gordon Wood are happy to have a new grandson. His name is Robert Richard - -- son of Jim and Dianne Wood. He weighed 9 pounds and 2 12 ounces. He was born June 25 one week to the night they had to leave Virginia to come The other grandson, home. James Gordon II, is happy over his new brother. We have added a new activity at the Nursing Home in the form of checkers, dom- inoes and card games and Chinese checkers. Thanks to A1 Haskins, director of the Committee for the Aging. He also got two card tables for us to use. Some of the pa- tients had real fun playing poker a few days ago. Margaret Dalton was visited by her daughter Norma and two grandchildren Jeanie and Laurie Ann Beeman. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Keele drove to Provo to attend the Keele reunion. Sharyn Cook and- children came to the Nursing Home to visit her mother, Helene - Pasborg. Opel Fleming, an aide, went to her home in Dove Creek. She may go to the Bo wan union at Farmington. re- Brian Stubbs, JimSlavens, Val Jones, Rick Lyman, Georganne Burtenshaw, Marta McDonald, Norman Black, Carolyn and Mark Lyman, Clyde Hunt, AnnaMarie Wayne Palmer, Henderson, Taylor and John Lyman and Jody Lyman and Bruce Bayles, as Belle and Stanford, the young couple setting out on the almost impossible journey. Participants in Part Two, not already mentioned, were Beverly Slavens, Corrine and Cindy Webb, Tara Dawn Nielson, Lori Hawkins, Dantzelle Johnson, Susanne Christensen, Lois Hurst, Michelle Nielson, and Carl Hunt. The story is told through narration, dramatization and slides. Between 400-5color slides were taken by photographer Tony Wojick at locales from Salt Lake to Manti, to Price to San Juan. Tapes were produced by Kent Tib-bit- ts with Ray Swanson in of sound. charge Lynette Adams coached the actors. The music and orchestration were writtenby Mr. Henderson as well as the script, which 00 required over a years preparation and research. After the music was scored, an orchestra from Salt Lake taped the soundtrack which the chorus and cast sung, too, which is not an easy task. All participants are to be commended for their diligence in performing this inaugural production. There were many touching scenes in the proand the emphasis duction, given to the humanness of Silas Smith, Belle and Sanford added a depth to our historical knowledge of the Hole-- " expedition which is often missing. ock The community will look forward to seeing this production portrayed, polished and perfected in future years, and congratulate and thank Mr. Henderson for his untiring and endless energy and talent which brings us such fine |
