Show 0 Kena Lee Concert drive to start FASHION FAIR Christensen attends camp Oct 5 The Tikonis Club of Monti- cello is holding its annual fashion show in September Two San Juan girls, Joylynn Jones and Cynthia Harvey, were among the many H girls and boys who were com4-- peting for State and National Kena says thanks to the people of Monticello and San Juan County. Kena Lee Christensen attended camp for two weeks this summer, and her mother says she had a wonderful time. That is, if the condition of her swim suit and soiled clothing are any indication, she must have had a great time, according to her mother, Mrs. Kenneth Christensen of Monticello. Kena is a handicapped child. The summer camp she enjoyed ! i U V- awards in Logan last week. Both girls come home with Blue Ribbons in their respective areas of interest. Joylynn won a Blue Ribbon in the Home Economics judging contest. Cynthia won a Blue Ribbon -also, the Sweepstakes award from the Ball Canning Co. Her prize consisted of: 1 dozen Ball "sculptured glass" 12 pint jars; 1 dozen Ball sculpt -ered 1 pint wide mouth jars; 1 unit of Hall "quilted crystal" 7 oz. jelly jars, and 1 Ball Canning Book. The Home Ec judging contest consisted of four item the girls had to judge correctly. The items were divided into three categories with four items in each category. This was one of the more difficult areas in the contest. Miss Bohi is a graduate of reton High School in Driggs, daho. It is a special camp for disabled children under the supervision of the Easter Seal Society. Activities are directed specifically to abilities of the handicapped, including horseback riding, swimming, fishing, hiking , archery, singing, etc. There is one trained counselor on duty for every three children, as well as a registered nurse. Kena's attendance at camp was made possible through a campership awarded her by Beta Delta Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha of Monticello. Beta Delta joins Kena and her parents in thanking the Monticello and San Juan communities for their enthusiastic support of its many projects throughout the year that provided the necessary funds. Some of these fund raising projects include the ESA jult 4 pancake breakfast, Easter and Christmas bake sales, the recent tupper ware party, and the Easter Seal Campaign. Last year the Beta Delta with the generous community support, was able to send Kirk Pehrson of Mexican Hat abd Kelley Green of Bluff to the Easter Seal Camp. The Sorority has again chosen the campership as the main philanthropic project and hopes to send another child from San Juan County area to camp next summer. ervation display. The Fair will be open to the public this year as a community gesture by the Tikonis members. There will be Tikonis members as well as other people in town participating. The Monticello Mercantile is cooperating by having some of their latest fashions for boys and girls and women shown. Everyone is invited to attend and see the latest in clothes as well as a few midis' from the 50's.
