'K Af ft The Blanding Library was the setting for the wedding reception held Dec. 21 in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Austin Lyman, who were married in the Salt Lake Temple on Dec. 19. The bride wore a gown of white bonded crepe, fashioned with an Empire waist and with heavy lace bell sleeves accented with seed pearls. Her train was of the same heavy lace. Her shoulder ' Miss Carroll to length veil was three -- tiered and accented with seed pearls. She carried a bridal bouquet of red rosebuds and white star-bur- st mums. The bride was attended by her sister, xMrs. Bonnie Mey er, as Matron of Honor. Her bridesmaids were Deannee Halliday, Donna Jones, Donna Nielson and Elaine Rowley and all wore cherry red gowns, empire styled, with velvet bows. Each carried a long stemmed white snowball mum. Harold Lyman, brother of the groom, was Best Man. The mother of the bride wore a red dress and the groom's mother was gowned it turquoise. Both wore corsages, of red rosebuds and white mums. The Library was decorated in the Christmds theme. Two beautiful blocked spruce trees trimmed with red lights, red balls, and red bows were in the foyer and the party room. Honeycomb bells with white bows hung from the ceiling. The gift table was in the foyer with the pictures of the bride and a huge bride doll. The bride's trousseau was on display. in the party room.. Flowered posts were the background for the bridal party. Vicky Stevens was at the guest book and Elaine Black and Sylvia Nielson played soft background music jecame the bride of William Bridal shower honors Mrs. Thompson Mrs. Marian Nielson was the hostess at a bridal shower at her home last Saturday afternoon honoring Mrs. Thomas James Thompson. Mrs. Thompson is the former Luella Probost, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. Vane Probost of American Fork, Utah. She and Thomas James Thompson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Thompson of Blanding, were married Dec. 20 in the Salt Lake Temple. The bride wore a gown of chiffon over lace, with a mantilla floor length veil. The mothers received the guests gowned in red ankle length dresses. Dainty refreshments were served by the groom's sister and their friends. After the holidays the groom will continue schooling at the LDS Business College where he is majoring in Business Administration and Mrs. Thompson will continue her employment with the State Board of Education. Mr. Probost, father of the bride, was also in attendance at the Blanding party. Blanding announces the engagement of her daughter, Kathleen, to Mr. Thurman Earl Hammon, son of Mrs. Mary Hammon of Chambers-bur- g, Pa. Kathleen is the daughter of the late Charlie Carroll who was killed in an automobile accident when she was five years old. At the present time Kathleen, who is a graduate of San Juan High School, is attending the Costomology College of Southern Utah. Tony, as he is known to his friends, is serving in the armed forces in Viet Nam where he has been since last January. He will return home in either January or February and after a six -- week furlough will be stationed in Oklahoma. Tony's father was also killed in an automobile accident when he was a small boy. Terry Certonio in a ceremony performed by Bishop Curtis ones at the home of the jride's mother, Mrs. Erva Shumway, at 5 p. m. Dec. 28. Relatives and close personal friends attended the ceremony The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Deryl, and wore a gown of white velvet. The gown was fashioned along Empire lines and 'ell in graceful folds to the .ilW- - V The wedding date will be determined after the groom-to-- be returns from Viet Nam. It's a girl for the Colemans It was almost a New Year's baby for Mr. and Mrs. Richard Coleman of Monticello, but their daughter made her appearance a bit early arriving Dec. 30. The little miss weighed 7 lbs. and 1 ounce and will be named Danette jy her proud parents. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Don Barton of floor. The bell sleeves and train were both trimmed in bands of wide lace and satin roses trimmed the tulle elbow length veil. She carried a bridal bouquet of a golden-throatorchid, surrounded by silver glittered baby blue carnations and tiny white rosebuds, with baby blue ribbon ed streamers. Acting as Maid of Honor for her cousin was Miss Lorraine Shumway. Bridesmaids were Miss Gai Lyn Shumway, sistei I Monticello with Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Coleman of Dove Creek as paternal grandparents. All wore gowns of blue and silver brocade, in the Empire line, and carried fur muffs with blue carnations. Nicky Black was best man. Mrs. Shumway wore a pale blue gown of bonded knit with a silver thread. Her corsage was of blue carnations and white rosebuds. Following the wedding the guests were served a buffet luncheon by the aunts of the bride. Mrs. Shumway, mother oi the bride, was hostess at a wedding reception at the Blanding Library that evening. The couple received their friends under a bridal arch decorated with blue carnations, blue ribbon bows, tiny blue lights and doves. A bouquet of blue carnations and snowflake mums were on the gift table and the white covered serving tables held a blue carnation in a rose bowl. Mrs. Chloe Ann Shumway was in charge of the bride's book and Mrs. Dorothy Nielson was at the gift table. Mrs. Patsy Shumway was in charge of the refreshments served by Toni, Sherrie and Susan Shumway and Dawn and Ardeanne Redd. The beautiful four-tierwedding cake was trimmed with blue roses, trellises and was topped with tiny white doves. The young couple will live at Pinetop, Ariz. , for the present where the groom is employed by the Rocky Mountain Builders of Blanding. The groom is the son of Mr. and Vlrs. A poinsettia corsage was presented to more than 50 in attendance and a turkey casserole dinner was served to Mrs. Kristy Carroll of Miss Shumway weds Certonio Miss Sandra Kay Shumway ved Corry and Marilyn Jones are the parents of a new baby boy who arrived Dec. 10. The new boy, named Thomas Kay, weighed 7 lbs. and 8 oz. The Jones' are very happy and wanted to share their good news with their Blanding friends. , |
