There is no other , I Emmery place in the world like this county. You have the nicest, friendliest people that you do not find anywhere else. They are caring and helpful. We have the most beautiful mountains. There is so much to do, hunting, fishing, riding horses and ATVs. My family went to Green River. We are always fishing at the lakes around here. The desert is neat too. It has cool Indian writings, the' Wedge, and the San Rafael and many more places to see, even picnicking at the State Parks. My family loves hunting and being so close to the mountains. I love Emery County because it is safe and clean and has the best teachers and friends. Most all of my family is from Emery County and I could not imagine living somewhere else. I am so lucky. ! By KIELIEIVIE, second place I it love Emery County because has the best Emery County Fair. My mom and dad both work in Emery County. It is so safe and beautiful. It has the best friends and the nicest people. Me and my family love to go camping and riding horses in our mountains. The mountains are so beautiful. We love to go swimming in the river by our house. We have the best school in Emery County. Our teachers are the bast in the world. They are the best; I hope I live in Emery County when I grow up because it is the best place to live, work and play. By RIKKO BOLOTAS, third place Emery County means a lot to me mostly because my family and friends all live in Emery County. I think it is a very clean and nice county. My favorite thing about Emery County is it is a great place for all outdoor activities, like hunting and fishing and also camping. When we go camping we can ride our horses and But most of all my favorite thing about camping is sitting around the fire and talking with my family. Emery County is a great place to raise a family. But huntingwith my dad. Emery County has some of the biggest bucks I have ever seen, and Emery County has huge fish, the biggest I have ever caught was at Huntington Lake with my grandpa. It was a six pound bass but let me tell you it felt like it weighed 100 pounds. Emery County also has some awesome rodeos, my favorite event is the bull riding, I think I want to be a bull rider. Emery County has something for everyfour-wheele- noth-ingbea- ts one. By DAKOTA McARTHUR, fourth place Emery County is a great place to live, work and play. There is great hunting, fishing, and other great outdoor stuff. There are great places to work for all kinds of people and great people to help you in Emery County like at the Desertview Credit Union, they will help you get your money, and the Castle Valley Coop, they will help you get tools and a great line of tires too. ' 1 also like going to the lake and crawdad fishing. I like to do the stock show; it is fun. I like playing with my friends. It's fun to be free to play and run free and do what you wrant to do. I have good friends that live Dy me and always have someone to play with. Emery County has good hunting places, and lots of fun things to do. I like to go to the museums in Emery County. I beg my mom to take me to the one in Castle Dale every time I go to the pool, that is something else I like to do in Emery County. Last year we camped out by the Cleveland Lloyd Dinosaur Quarry. I really liked walking around and trying to find fossils and dinosaur bones. Emery County has a great history of dinosaurs. I also like w hen my school takes us on field trips and we go see all the Indian writings. I like climbing on the rocks and hills out on the desert. I think Emery County is a great place it has a lot of things for families to do together. By DALLAS McARTHUR, fifth place, tie . 1 like living in Emery County because I can go to our farm and feed the pigs, cows, horses, and peacocks. I can play basketball with my brother and my cousins. I can play outside all the time and sleep in my tent. Next year I will be able to show a pig in the stock show with my brother. I have been waiting forever to be in the stock show. I like to go swim at the lake, catch crawdads and go camping in the mountains, and go camping Easter weekend on the desert with my family and find Easter eggs and go By JAMES HEALEY, fifth place, tie Emery County means a lot to me because it provides the Emery County baseball teams. Baseball is fun and the coaches are nice to me. There is less pollution and beautiful scenery. I like looking out the window of my vehicle at the majestic mountains and birds as I trav el with my family. I enjoy nature more as I go camping. I love to ride my bike with my friends in a place, where there are no gangs and I feel free and happy. My grandfather was in the Marines and he helped to keep us free. I am proud to be an American and appreciate all the people who help America be a free country. I can come and go as I please and make my own choices in life. What more could anyone ask for? I will be having my ninth birthday soon and celebrating another good year in Emery County, that will pass by. I've enjoyed these freedoms, so very much and Finely County brings good feelings to me. I know that it is the kind of place that not everyone can love. I have not lived here my whole life but I have lived here long enough to know how much influence a place like this can have on a person. Between sports, school and a job I have found out that it doesn't leave much time to get into trouble. Not saying that I havent had my fair share of stupid decision making because I have. That just goes along vv ilh growing up. Besides school related ev ents that can keep you entertained as vou grow and mature are the places that we have to go. The mountains, the desert, and lakes that surround us. If I'm not busy working 1 can always go play out on the Riding horses desert, riding up in the mountains, and in between all that, taking a refreshing dip in the lake are all long lasting memories for me and my famfour-wheele- rs ily. Growing up in Emerv Countv has been a blast. I enjoy the people and how few of them there are. I love that I can lookout mv back door and watch the sun come up over the desert. I lov e that can look out my front door and watch the sun set over the mountains. They are both great and a lot of fun. Another thing I like about Emery County is that its not too big. I like it where every body knows evervbodv.
