Comments from local residents are needed this week. The deadline for public comments is June 21. Please take the time to express your views to the BLM. Some feel that without access to our public lands we might as well be living in Los Angeles or New York City. If you are unable to decide what to write the following is a sample letter: needed to adequately address the issues involved in the BLM planning process. The plans currently used by the land managers are working. Why change to something that will only frustrate and anger the majority of the people in the areas involved? Why does the BLM feel there is a need for this management change? If it isnt broke, why fix it? Generally I oppose the creation of additional WSAs on any BLM managed land in Utah. The rodeo club would like to invite everyone up to There Heber on June 16-1- 9. will be two shows daily on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday; at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Then the final go on Saturday at 2 p.m. Cow Cutting is Thursday and Friday at 2 p.m. and the Finals go on at 10 a.m. on Saturday. The club is having their annual picnic at 1.30 on Thursday in the rodeo campground. There is also Li- ons Park for everyone. So everyone is invited to come up to play and help support the Emery Rodeo Team. The Emery club wants to say thanks to every one in the county that has helped so many times and always been a support to the club. We couldnt have done it without the whole community. The club is also looking for new members to join the club. So if you have children coming of age bring them up and let them see what a great sport rodeo is. The next major Friends of the Manti volunteer effort is scheduled July 17th in conjunction with Take Pride in Utah. Volunteers will be asked to work on Fish Creek Campground Picnic tables and fences need replacing, the horse coral needs refurbishing and the trail needs maintenance. Entry fee for a foursome includes, 18 holes of golf, golf cart, continental break fast, two beverage holes and a steak luncheon after play. Prizes will be awarded at the luncheon. Entry fee is $360 per foursome. Deadline for signing up is July 28th. The scramble is limited to only 36 teams.
