Volunteerism is a natural outgrowth of a society based on freedom and individual initiative and is further evidence of the basic goodness of the American people. Volunteers are ordinary people who give freely of their time and expertise to improve the lot of others, They are the people who see a problem and then find a way to solve it. This year, the Emery County Retired Senior Volunteer Program celebrates 20 years of voluntary service. During the past year, 322 senior volunteers donated nearly 50,000 hours of service to their communities. She plays the bass clarinet in the Emery High School Symphonic Band and enjoys it very much. Some ofher hobbies are cooking, sewing and dancing. She is active in her ward and currently serves as second counselor in the Laurel presidency. She would like to make teaching music and English her career.
