Hatch says areas with growing populations and limited water, such as California, Arizona and Colorado, have pioneered and are promoting alternative irrigation techniques. In addition landscape plants that tolerate dry grow ing conditions are being researched and encouraged. Hatch has used drip or irrigation in his demonstration gardens and found that they are not only miserly with water but result in fewer weeds and cleaner plants. Further, they dont wash away pesticides and keep the garden from becomtrickle ing too muddy to work in. Snowmobiles, motorcycles and vehicles (ATVs) are classified as vehicles. This is the first year instruction will be available for snowmobilers in the Know Before You Go! training program. Know Before You Go! was initiated in 1988 to teach safe OHV riding habits to riders, ages 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The tag cost is $5 per tree, with only one tree permit allowed per household.
