People affected by me have an extreme fear of gaining weight. Today hundreds of thousands of young people are victims of my potentially fatal disorder. I am treatable, and the sooner treatment begins, the better the chances for a full recovery. What am I? Anorexia nervosa. Anorexia nervosa has grown to epidemic proportions across the U.S. It does not affect only certain people. Today, anorexia affects people of all races and economic backgrounds. Almost anything can cause anorexia. People with anorexia need help and help is available. Family and friends, school college personnel, health professionals and support groups can all help these people become well again both physically and mentally. Anorexia nervosa is a serious condition, but it is of Nash Baltzer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Baltzer of Air Force Reserve Airman Michael L. Fillmore, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fillmore of Huntington, has completed the OII-5helicopter repair course at the U.S. Army Aviation School, Fort Rucker, Ala.
