She knows from experience in publishing other books the prohibitive costs and gamble in selling the book to the public afterwards, but she is not one who shrinks from a challenge. In the meantime, upon request from I growing following, she has scheduled a series of workshops to teach us how to write poetry. The first form will be sonnets. The entire period will be centered about sonnets and how to compose your own. The time is 5 p.m. at Kerron Libary, Friday, Nov. 22. There is more to poetry than moon, spoon, tune, and dune. The master will instruct us free of charge as a gift from her heart, soul and mind because she wants us share in the creation of beauty and inspiring thought. Other workshops will be held after the first of the year. r 4 z Mildred Breedlove The productivity . w -- preserving had to Ik used. load At 12 years of age. the full was placed on her shoulders while her mother recovered from a breakdown. Today, Mildred still makes everything possible from scratch. She bakes her own bread, and this time of the year brings out her fruit cake recipe to turn out of an 82' 25-3- lbs. 0 at a whack. Her recipes are complex, unusual and like her poems, richly rewardin. She makes her own citrus peel. The peel is so good one would have to hurry fast to use in the cakes before the family eats them out of hand. They are delicious. Mildred advises assembling all ingredients and lining the pans with greased wax paper a day ahead. She greases a broad sheet and cuts it into pieces for skills developed from the months she spent at her mothers side, helping to feed 20 hired hands on the farm, curing hams and bacon, making sausage and sauce, sauerkraut, drying fruit on the roof, making butter from the cream, putting cooked tomatoes in a can and sealing with wax.
