Galen is also competing for the Star State Farmer Farm-er Degree. Only one boy from Utah can receive this honor. ' '-j ' ' : lf' ' jjb " ft '; GALEN MYERS DISTRICT YOUTH CONFERENCE HELD AT WEST JORDAN WEDNESDAY "Time Challenges Youth" was the theme for the Jordan District Youth Conference held Wednesday, March 7, at West Jordan Jr. High School. Chairman of th conference was Mrs. Paul Henneman ' who is a member of the Jordan Council P.T.A. Vice-chairman of the event was P. Ml Mickelsen, director of pupil personnel. Other members in charge of the conference include: Mrs. Henry Wahlquist, H. W. Jorgensen, Jor-gensen, G. Reed Sanderson, Ralph B. Keeler, Dean Barton, Mrs. Jean Taylor, Warren G. Allsop, Mrs. Elizabeth Gillam, Andy Johnson, and Cleve Hale. Students attending the conference consisted of one representative for each home room plus student body officers from the five schools participating, par-ticipating, Bingham, Jordan, West Jordan Jr., Mt. Jordan Jr., and Midvale Jr. High Schools. Four main topics were discussed under the heading "Using Time Wisely". They arc; I. MINERS WIN TOURNEY BERTH The Miners defeated the Cyprus Pirates last Friday 78-74 to give them second place honors in Region Re-gion Four and a berth in the state tournament.
