Mer-w- in Johansen, was Injured in a freak accident while in his dorm at school and received a brain concussion. He was taken to a Salt Lake hospital but an operation was unnecessary. He is now doing fine. On April 18th Mrs. Mabel Lofley was honored for her 82nd birthday which was April 9th, by the annual family gathering. It was held in the Elmo Ward Cultural Hall with a fried chicken dinner being served to 60 people, A program was held with Lee Myrup acting as Master of Ceremonies. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Myrup and Mr. and Mrs. Vemell Oliver were in charge of the reunion this year. Mr, and Mrs. Max Tucker, Max Lee and Monte Tucker motored to Tus Bay Oregon to attend the funeral of Norma's father, Mr. Thomas Timothy who died of Cancer. The Common Day of Freedom Act petition was available to all interested citizens on April 18, 1970 at May Hardware. The petition carried 73 signatures at the end of the day. Two hundred fifty signatures are needed from the Green River Area. Mrs, Mildred West, mother of Mrs. Dorothy Every, passed away on April 21p in a Denver, Colorado hospital, after a long Illness.
