Three out of every five factory workers in our state hold down jobs thet depend on the products of mines. These workers separate the nietals from waste material, refine them to a pure state, or make them into a thousand and one things for everyday use. Mining and prosperity go hand in hand in Utah. UTAH MINING ASSOCIATION "From Page Thre- - the earth comes an abundant life tor all " The diurns flourished and the trumpets sounded and North Emerys lovely Harvest Queen Candidates appeared. The occasion was the selecting from all eleven of them, the three who were best qualified to represent North Emery at the FFA State Sweetheart Contest. Outside judges nounced. All E. Pep Club and N. E. Senior girls are invited to be our guest3. The second edition of N. E.s official clarion, the Arouser, has been issued. The staff, headed by Effie Bishop is doing a fine job and I wish to congratulate them. Our thanks goes also to Mrs. Jane MoClenahan for the time and assistance she gives us as our advisor. Perhaps we dont give enough thanks when it is due. There is always a complaint, but very seldom do we congratulate someone for a job well done. We may feel, ourselves, that it was well done, but unless we express it our thoughts are never known. Anyone can criticize, but it takes someone truly great to pay a compliment where it is due, give thanks and just plain, show appreciation. Parents Day at North Emery will be Monday, November 12, 1956. Parents are cordially invited to attend. We will have 4 classes in the morning and an excellent assembly from the BYU at 11 oclock. Fifth and sixth periods in the afternoon will be followed by a PTA meetinng for parents after which they will . be invited to attend the finals of the class series basketball games. Sounds like a bang up day parents, so come out and attend. youns m TRIPLE L CLUB Thursday afternoon the Triple L Club members of Ferron were entertained by Aura Austin at her home where they enjoyed a sociable time and were served a lovely lunch.
