On this trip we did learn one interesting fact. Although the distance around through Price is 98 miles, compared to 60' across the desert, a difference of 38 miles, the time spent in driving between the two points was almost identical by the two different routes. The consequence of a divided county, is the separating of a particular group of people from the seat of the local government. Any transaction of a county nature must be conducted in the county seat. The people of the eastern area has the choice of traveling around Price 98 miles or coming across the desert 60 miles. The latter route, however, is dependent also on the weather. Tliis condition is not oondusive to proper representation of the people, and we feel that every effort should be made to improve this situation. In order to provide a paved road, it would be necessary to rebuild and surface 38 miles of road. Cant something be done to expedite this project. We feel that anything that is for the good of the county will benefit every individual in the county, regardless of whether it places any ready casli in our pockets or not. Lets not let petty jealousies between towns rob us of the benefits of a unified county. Let us hear some comment pro and con, as to your opinion. We realize there are always those on both sides, so lets hear the facts, and see if some solution cant be reached.
