C0.stap.7a. a resident of Moab for 54 jears, died at the Uni- versity of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City on June 10, children Miles Whitney of Phoenix, Ariz., and Clinton Cole, sons of Rick; James Derek of Delta, Utah, son of James; Jenifer Casandra of Jim died from complica- 4th tions of liver and kidney failure due to an unknown cause. A tropical disease is suspected, and an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause Jim was born June 30, 1922 in Silsbee, Texas, the only child of Mary Cappadonna for the of July Moab, daughter of Joe. Jim was given the name of Frank at birth. Joseph was added during baptism. His family called him Sonny Boy. When he entered the air Force in 1941 he didnt want to be called G I. Joe so he started using the name Jim. He was raised in Port Arthur and Midland, Texas. After graduation in 1941 he joined the Air Force. He was trained as an airplane tail gunner. His time in the service Costanza and Frank Durso Costanza. He was preceded in death both by parents, and his wife of 47 years, Joyce Levine De Shane Costanza. Community Celebration! Sids education began at the age of five in County Line moved to Josephine, Texas and resided there for 3 years before moving to Lubbock County where Sid attended New Deal High School. He was active in football mid ran track, leaving school in 1938, After school, he worked on farms and ranches in Texas and New Mexico for 2 years, Crawford Hotel in Midland, Texas when Pearl Harbor was bombed and World War II was declared. He returned home to Hale Center, Texas, where his parents were living and remained there until he enlisted into the service. Sid was sworn in the Army Air Force on Dec. 29, 1941. In February of 1942 he sailed overseas to Karachi, India and t on the Agra, India returning to the states on September 11, 1944. He was stationed in 13 months. He was transferred to Camp McCoy in Wisconsin with the rank of Staff Sergeant. While In the service Sid received the Theater Service Medal, four overseas Service Bars, an ASR score lapel button and a Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged from the service October 11, 1945. Sid married Donna Mae Law on March 29,1946 in Hale Center, Texas. They moved to Lubbock, Texas where he was which included livestock trade, working with horses and interacting with people. Our Dad instilled in his family a strong sense of independence and integrity; famthe value of a close-knand ily lasting friendships and above all else, the eternal hope, joy and peace that lies in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. For this lasting heritage, we are eternally grateful. Memorial services were held on Saturday, June 8, 2002 at 3 p.m. at New Hope Four Square Church, 4330 College Blvd., Farmington, NM. Cremation has taken it hardwood floors. In 1948 they moved to Fort Sumner, New Mexico where he worked as a carpenter. In 1954, uranium was discovered in Moab. Mines were opening and work was plentiful. His first job was helping build a bridge across the Colorado River. Later he went to work for Atlas Mill associated with mining, milling place. and transportation or uranium Ore for the use in the manufacturing of atomic weapons. Sid became a mem- her of the Church of Christ in 1959 after being baptized in the Colorado River in Moab. He completed his high school education in 1966, also in Moab. After retirement, Sid and Dona remained in Moab enjoying the surrounding beauty, nature friends mid family. Cecil Joe Fowler, Sr., 63, of Kirtland, New Mexico, passed peacefully into the arms of his Heavenly Father on June 5, 2002 in the family home, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his father, Rufus Fowler and his brother, Troy Fowler. He is survived by his mother, Rena Fowler, four sisters, Lorena James, Reva Potter, Gracie Stevenson and Pat Strause, his former wife, Lucille Fowler, sons, Cecil Fowler, Jr. of Grand Junction, Colo., Brent Fowler of public school near Plano, Texas.
