He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister and brotlier-in-laBethale and Jack Law ley and his er-in-law Jerry Cline Bud loved to keep up with local and world current events and sports of any kind He enjoyed doing things with his wife and young boys and baby daughter step-moth- fath- Dorothy Provonsha died Dec. 2 Dorothy Provonsha, longtime Moab resident, died Dec. 2, 2000, at home her son and daughter-in-law- s in Salt Lake City, w here she had resided for the past year Born April 16, 1915, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, she moved to the Los Angeles area as a young child, where she developed her love of the ocean. Dorothy moved to Moab during the uranium boom and quickly became well known in the food service industry, working at such places as The Arches, Westerner Grill, and The Uranium Club, among others. She trained many waitresses and bartenders, and was always pleased when they would remind her of what a tough boss she was and how grateful they were for her teaching them the ropes. She always had a delightful (and sometimes wicked) sense of humor, which she kept right to the end. Dorothy is preceded in death by Dorothy Provonsha Kathleen her mother and and Eugene Terrell. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law- , Walter (Rusty) and Marcy Davidson, one grandson, four and longtime friend, Anne Oates At her request, no services will be held. Her ashes will be returned to the Colorado River and the Pacific Ocean. step-fathe- r, great-grandson- John William Brock died Dec. John William Brock passed away Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000 m Salt Lake City. He was bom Nov. 26, 1914 in Montrose, Colo.; the son of Joseph D. and Margaret White Brock. His childhood was spent on a family farm in Uncompaghre, south of Montrose. He graduated from Montrose County High School in 1933. He joined the Navy a few days after Pearl Harbor and served as a pharmacists mate on Theatre. a ship in the Asiatic-Pacifi- c He was a journeyman plumber, and worked at that profession, as well as farming, most of his adult life. Brock loved to travel, and had reading as his hobby along with geography. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a follower of Rosicrtcianism. Brock lived the past six years with his daughter and Katie and Dave Bierschied in Moab. He is also survived by son, James B. Brock of Sandy, Utah; and daughter Bonnie (Ray) Walker, also of Sandy, nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Linscott of Montrose, Colo. His par- - 3 ents, four brothers, two sisters, and Jean Brock, his daughter-in-law- , preceded him in death. Services will be at Spanish Valley Mortuary in Moab on Friday, Dec. 8 at 2 p.m. A viewing will be held one hour before the service.
