Show tary School got started at the school Tuesday, Sept. 19, under the direction of Mrs. Ebba Clover, auxiliary member. Children are encouraged en-couraged to participate in buying stamps on Tuesdays as a method and incentive of teaching them systematic savings. West Jordan Third Ward Sunday School held their annual "Sunday School Budget" drive this week. Families were asked by superintendent superinten-dent of Sunday School of West Jordan Jor-dan Third Ward Clark Frandson to contribute 15 cents per person in the family. Mrs. Lyman O. Draper and her two little sons, Danny 3, and David 18 months, are leaving Friday, today, to-day, to jcin her husband in Ram-stein, Ram-stein, Cermany, where he is stationed station-ed with the U. S. Air Force. Mrs. Draper has been staying with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin A. Cole, 1457 W. 7800 South, West Jordan. A family dinner was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Wells in honor of the homecoming of Morris Wells from a LDS mission and the birthdays of Larry Wells, Pauline Bishof and Olive Wells. Others present were the Wells' children, Merilee, Clifford, Sally, Sanny and Susan, Mr. and Mrs. Biah Bishoff and children, Deanna and Margaret and Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Wells and children, Sharon, Faye, Stanley, Jimmy and Morris. Hie Cub Scout Pack 335 fall program was planned at recent meeting held at the home of Cub Scoutmaster Joe Shaw. A. C. Furse was named chairman of the pack committee. Committee members are Nelson Romero, Elmer Tripp and William Thompson. Den Mothers are Mrs. BrimhalL Mrs. Rosi and Mrs. Mergler. Mr. and Mrs. William W. Cham-plin Cham-plin spent last week end fishing and just taking it easy on the Henry's Fork of the Snake River in St. Anthony, An-thony, Idaho. Accompanying the Champlins were Mrs. Champlin's mother, Mrs. Florence Hathaway, sister, Louise Hathaway and two brothers, Mike and Richard Hathaway. Hatha-way. The parents of Mrs. Ida Merle Frandson who was injured in an automobile accident last week, are visiting at the Frandson home. Mrs Frandson' parents came to help out with the family until Ida Merle is ' able to return home from the hospital. hos-pital. Until recently neighbors had been taking turns fixing dinner for the family and ironing clothes. Tascell of Salt Lake City and Mr. and Mrs. Al Tassainer and daughter, daugh-ter, Vickie, of Vernal who were visiting at the Van Tassells for the week end. Tuesday evening Mr. and Mr. Lloyd Nerdin visited his father, S. T. Nerdin of Ogden, who has been transferred from St. Benedict's Hospital in Ogden to Weber County Coun-ty Chronic Hospital in Roy. They report the elder Mr. Nerdin is quits a bit improved and now up in a wheel chair. WEST JORDAN JR. HIGH SCHOOL NOTES The West Jordan Junior High School faculty held a steak fry at the Spruces yesterday (Thursday). The party was under the chairmanship chairman-ship of Mrs. William B. Preston. The seventh grade talent will present an assembly at the West Jordan Jr. High School this afternoon, after-noon, Friday. A matinee get-acquainted dance will follow the assembly. WEST JORDAN AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY Last Saturday, the American Legion Le-gion Auxiliary Post I 1 9 of West Jordan, under direction of their president, Mrs. Veona Thompson, held their annual Cold Star Mothers Moth-ers luncheon at Herman's on North Temple with two of their three gold star mothers attending. Those present pres-ent were Mrs. Ann Irving and Mrs. Lula Lyon. The other gold star mother, Mrs. Maggie Kastanis was unable to attend the luncheon. All the mothers received a lovely corsage. cor-sage. American Legion Auxiliary Post I 1 9 was represented at the National Na-tional Guard sponsored "Americans Up Front" seminar held last Friday at the National Guard Air Base in Salt Lake City. Spending the day visiting and dinner guest Sunday of Mr. and Mr. T. Earl Kelly and family were Mr. Kelly' parents, Mr. and Mrs. James A. Kelly of American Fork. Members of the West Jordan Town Board attended all or part of the sessions of the Municipal League Lea-gue convention held in Salt Lake City last Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Sat-urday, it is reported. Mr. and Mrs. William Rager and family, Danny, Kenny, Rochelle and Reanon of West Jordan entertained enter-tained at a family birthday dinner last Wednesday night honoring the birthlday anniversaries of Walter E. Rager of Lark-and Mrs. Clare Rager of Sandy. Others present were Mrs. Walter E. Rager and Clare Rager and son, Cary. Mrs. John Adamek was hostess for the first fall meeting of her pinochle club following their summer sum-mer vacation at her home in West Jordan Monday night. Prizes at cards were won by Mrs. Tory Tct-biason, Tct-biason, first and traveling; Mrs. Dick Steele, second; and Mrs. J. W. Johnson, consolation. Late refreshments re-freshments were served. Jerry Wheatley left Tuesday by jet plane to return to Hawaii where he is stationed with the army, after spending a 30-day, emergency leave here with his wife, Barbara, at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Hettrick of West Jordan.
