In 1948 the American Enka Corporation opened a new plant near Morristown, Tenn., known as the Lowlands plant. Soon after this plant went into production, the CIO agitators swarmed in, and with their false propaganda and glittering promises, they were successful in misleading enough of the Enka workers to organize the mill, with the lysual wave of strife and bitterness following. At the time this strike was called, the Enka plant was paying their approximately 700 employees an average wage rate of $1.32 per hour,, plus additional benefits including life insurance and hospitalization, paid vacations, paid holidays, extra premiums for night work, and a modern infirmary with, a doctor and five nurses on duty. At this writing, the Enka strike has been in progress for nearly four months, after the arrogant Union bosses had refused the Companys offer of a 10c an hour wage increase . . . In the Enka case, as is true with nearly all strikes, a large percentage of the workers were Says Walter Boyd, Los Angeles, Calif. and still Come in . . . see how you could satisfied with their jobs, with pay $1,000 more their wages, and with the treatall Dodge extra room . . . ease of handling . . . famous depend ment they were receiving from their employer, and chose to can surely spare 5 minutes ignore the strike and continue Aivring . when thats all it takes especially ruf, working, which was their just save see lo exactly how you could pay $1,000 g"that pendabilityto privilege if America is truly are more without getting These mile. after everything Dodge the land of the free.
