HARPER WASHINGTON'S BWTHDAr SOME years ago, when efforts were made to "debunk" George Washington, mention of it was made to "cautious Cal" Coolidge and his opinion was sought. It was reported that he looked out a window and replied, "I see the monument still stands." And it is safe to believe that in the remote age of our future as a nation, if the very stones of the monument should crumble into JUST A THOUGHT: What we think of an Individual; Individ-ual; what others tell us about that person; these are not enough. In the final analysis, we have to look at the record. Every man, by his good deeds and bad, marks his own trail along the road of life. ' dust, the character of George Washington will stand secure in the hearts of his countrymen The expressed faith in the "Benign Parent" and Washing ton's appeal to Him for guidance in an inaugural address marks him as a devout believer in the Almighty God who comes with stately steppings down the course of history. And on the 22nd day of Feb ruary, the people of the United States of America should unite in giving their tribute of respect to our great first President and in committing their ways unto Him , whose providential agency has marked every step in which thej have advanced as a Nation |
