The meeting was in honor of the flag and was an observance of Constitution week. The following program was given: community singing of patriotic songs; talk, "What the Flag Means to a Boy Scout," Earl Alnge; talk, "History and Use of the Flag," Mrs. Sarah Sterling; vocal solo, Miss Madge Peterson of Richfield; poem, "Code of the Flag, Mrs. Alice Bullen, Salt Lake City. Luncheon was served to 12 members and two guests, Mrs. Bullen and Miss Peterson. During the luncheon MIbs Peterson entertained with several focal solos. Miss Lois Bowen assisted In serving. The officers and teachers of the Second ward were entertained last Friday night at the home of the Superintendent, Alvin R. Creer by the Superintendency. The early part of the evening was spent In playing games, after which a short program consisting of talks by Bishop Elisha Warner and Wm. A. Cornaby and duets by Misses Afton Jones and Kate Tippetts and Arthur Livingston and Mrs. Stella Brockbank was given under the direction of Miss Florence Tuttle. A singing contest and a stepdancing contest in which the Sunday School superintendency easily outclassed the Bishopric, were the features of the evening. Ice cream, cake and melons were served by the re fresbmnt committee. |
