July 23. In an affort to divert automobile traffic tourist have bean warned that cara cannot get Into the Jackeona Hole country. In an affort to offset these reports, the for-- st supervisor of the Teton national forest . has sent out the following notice, which explains the condition of the roads through Jacksons Hole: "All roads leading to the Yellowstone park through Jacksons Hols were never better. The Teton pass road le In excellent condition. The Hoback canyon road Is so much Improved over last year that there is not a grade of any consequence left between Jackson and Pine-dal- e. It Is still necsssary to ford the Hoback river twice between the Van Vleck ranch and Bondurant: however, most cars can make these fords on their own power. Should they need assistance It can be obtained at the Van Vleck ranch. Cliff creek Is bridged and the Hoback Is bridged at the Van Vleck ranch, thus two of th moat troublesome fords ars eliminated. The "rim hill is no mors and the high grades in the canyon are all eliminated The Wind river road Is cars readily passable for when the road Is dry. Small cars and heavily loaded .cars should svold this route. Going east there are long grades of 18 to 23 per cent, and It Is scarcely less steep going west. Temporary approaches have been constructed to the Buffalo river bridge at Turpin Meadows and considerable work has been done smoothing up the surface of the road, yet It remains a hard road for the average tourist car. The Snake river can be crossed at the ferry between Jackson and Wilson, at Manor's ferry and at Moran. Roads in the park were never better.
