Show Society is holding its regular monthly mon-thly work day next Wednesday at 10 a.m. under direction of Connie Nuiman, work day leader. Time will be spent quilting and making organdy flowers for corsage. All ladies of the ward are invited. Bert Williamson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Williamson, is employed employ-ed in Vernal and staying with his grandmother, Mrs. Clace Downard, there. , The G.N. birthday club enjoyed a lovely dinner one dav last week at the home of Mrs. Orvil Dimond. Those enjoying the occasion were Mrs. Myrtle Becketead and Mrs. Lucy Becketead of Sandy, Mrs. Rose Rawlings, Murray: Mrs. Myrtle Ostler, Os-tler, Mrs. Mary Fullmer, Mrs. Elsie Hatt of South Jordan, Mrs. Irene James and Mrs. Colleen Tyson of West Jordan and Mrs. Harvey Ol-een Ol-een of Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Owen Neilson gave a family birthday party on Sunday, April 22, for their daughter, Mrs. Kaye Johnson. Family members attending at-tending included her husband and her brother, Paul Neilson of Logan. Mrs. Fontella Dotson and her son and daughter in law, Mr. and Mrs. George Dotson visited in Min-ersville Min-ersville on April 23. During the day they attended the funeral of Mrs. La ban Bust in Beaver after which they returned home. Visiting in Tacoma, Wash., the past week has been Mrs. Willie Lane and her two children. West Jordan Jr. High School's orchestra under direction of Lowell Hicks, recently put .on an assembly for each of the elementary schools. Mrs. Florence Jacobson and her twin brother, Laurence (Bill) Johnson John-son will have a family birthday celebration for their own families at the home of Mrs. Jacobson. STAKE CONFERENCE HELD LAST WEEK END Last Saturday evening at 8 p.m. at West Jordan Jr. High School auditorium, the West Jordan and Riverton Stakes held a joint conference con-ference session on science and religion re-ligion for all youth over twelve and their parents. Elder John H. Van-debnerg Van-debnerg was the presiding authority and Ivan Barrett, a teacher at BYU was guest speaker.. The Sunday evening conference program held at the stake house was a panel discussion. Music was furnished by the Bingham High School a capella choir under direction direc-tion of Wendell Checketts and presentation pre-sentation of sportsmanship trophies were awarded that night. Guest of Miss Sonja Schorr over the Easter week end was Miss Judy Turner from California who is attending at-tending BYU with Miss Schorr. Mrs. Clinton Williamson visited Monday with Mrs. George Abplan-alp Abplan-alp of Copperton and Mrs. Evelyn Fontana of Bingham. Miss Marlene Webb has been recuperating re-cuperating at home from oral surgery sur-gery on a wisdom tooth. Mrs. Yetive Haun is recuperating in St. Mark's Hospital following an operation which she had earlier in the week. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Jensen and daughter of Killeen, Tex., are visiting visit-ing with Mr. and Mrs. Lee Richardson. Richard-son. Mr. Jensen is on an 1 8-day leave from the National Guard. First meeting of the newly organized or-ganized 4-H club, the Clever Clovers, Clov-ers, was held at the home of their leader, Brenda Bateman, last Thursday Thurs-day night. Officers were elected with all girls in the club holding offices. They are: president, Lorry Williams; vice president, Diana Bateman; secretary, Kathy Olson; treasurer, Vicky Stocking; reporter, Connie Palmer, and recreation chairman, LeRae Paskett. A birthday luncheon was held at the home of Mrs. Gwen Shulaen of Riverton celebrating her birthday last Friday. Last Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rich-ard E. Westwood and family and Mrs. Ida Westwood motored to Green River to take home Mrs. Ida Blake who has been visiting the past two months with Mrs. Ida Westwood. West Jordan Third Ward will hold their Primary Conference this Sunday, May 6. All Primary children child-ren will be participating and they have a nice program of talks and musical numbers arranged. The program will start at 7:00 p.m. ' On Saturday, May 5, the West Jordan American Legion Auxiliary will hold a luncheon honoring Gold Star Mothers. The luncheon will be held at the home .of Mrs. Nell Williams at one o'clock. Mother being honored are Ann Irving, Lula Lyon and Maggie Kastani. A short program has been planned following follow-ing the luncheon. West Jordan Fourth Ward Primary Pri-mary is presenting the program Sunday evening, May 6, at 7:30 p.m. at West Jordan Fourth Ward Chapel. All parents are especially invited to come and see their children chil-dren perform. A very fine program is going to be presented and is un- nesday to make their new home in Norwalk, Calif. T. Eighteen members of West Jordan Jor-dan Third Ward choir motored to American Fork Monday night, April 30, to hear the annual concert of the Alpine Stake Chorus, which consists of 200 singing voices. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Beers, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Carroll, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Bateman, Mr. and Mrs. Ned Cundick, Mr. and Mrs. Friedman Pierson, Mr. and Mrs. T. Two delegates will be recipients of an all expense paid trip to Washington, Wash-ington, D.C., to the AAA National School Safety Patrol which represents repre-sents states from coast to coast. Delegates are selected by the Salt Lake Safety Council on basis of scholastic standing, leadership, citizenship citi-zenship and other attributes. Salt Lake City has 1,100 boys and girls participating in fety patrol. Mr. Westwood who is a member of both associations, associa-tions, was made chairman of Ranch Service for Great Lakes and executive ex-ecutive committee member of Mutation Muta-tion EMBA.
