The GRTS is owned and operated by the U.S. Army White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), New Mexico. WSMR has completed a thorough mental sites and additional areas of interest (AOI) and completed removal actions and additional assessment at those areas which previously demonstrated possible environmental concerns. It is the U.S. Armys position, with concurrence from the Utah Department of Env- ironmental Quality (UDEQ) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), that no additional actions are necessary at GRTS of this facility should be No Further Removal Planned" Actions as defined in the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (NFRAP), (CERCLA). In order to answer any questions or concerns from the community, WSMR has scheduled a public meeting at 6 p.m. on June 15, 2005 at the City Hall, Green River, Utah. The majority of po- tential environmental sites identified at GRTS did not demon- strate any impacts and response actions are considered response complete. A copy of this report is available for public review at the City of Green River Public Library. A summary of the actions and determinations given above can be found in the draft e Close GRTS Out Report (COR) also available for public review at the City of Green River Public Library. The Site-wid- e COR is the final document required before the EPA and UDEQ provide concurrence that all necessary response actions have taken place at GRTS, and a decision of No Further Removal Actions Planned is appropriate. Young drivers need additional experience behind the wheel in a controlled situation to gain the needed expertise to operate a vehicle safely. Even if your teen driver has their license, the summer months provide extra time for parents to help their teen develop additional driving skills such as driving in the canyons or on long stretches of freeway. A new driver must drive 10 of the 40 practice hours after dark and a new driver is restricted from driving between the hours of midnight and 5 a.m. Nighttime driving poses a great risk for teens. Parents should consider the danger of driving after dark when . they set the time limits for their teen drivers and even make an earlier curfew for their families. New drivers may not transport teen passengers for the first six months of the licensure. The law allows new teen drivers to drive with their family members, and they may transport teens if an adult is in the front seat.
