He passed away May 25, 2005 in Fruita, Colo. Glenn was born Dec 19, 1926 in Holbrook, Neb., to Clell and Lucy Thayer Henry, the oldest of three children. e While growing up on the farm in Holbrook he as600-acr- sisted his father with the plowing, planting, harvesting, repairing equipment, and breaking horses. When he was 19 years old, Glenn was inducted into the U.S. Army. He served in the 492nd Quarter Master Depot Company in Tokyo and received the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, Army of Occupation Medal and WWII Victory Medal. After his service in the army, he returned to Holbrook and started an excavating business. The business failed because Glenn was too kind to force people to pay their bills. However, Glenn would not file bankruptcy and so worked many long years to pay the debt he had incurred. In those days, he was making about two dollars an hour, but then he found work in Alaska, working on the Alaskan Pipeline, working to $10 an hour. In Alaska, in 1971, he met Donna Mae Shumway. They were married October 16, 1971 and had a wonderful 33 years together. Special grandson graduates from ASU in Tempe, Arizona Samuel Clark Moore, son of Harold and Carma Moore of Salt Lake City, Grandson of Lula and the late Clark E. DeLong and the late Oren and While in Alaska, Glenn began investigating the LDS Church. It was wintertime and Glenn didnt have any work and stayed at home. He told Donna that he would read the Book of Mormon while she was at work. That he did. The following summer, they had been invited to a 24th of July Celebration and Glenn caught the bishop and said, When do you want to dunk me? Glenn was baptized shortly thereafter. Glenn and Donna were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on December 6, 1985. They moved to Moab in November 1987. Glenn was a perfectionist. Whatever task he was given in life, he did it to the best of his ability. He nnu.s.G.s.To&omcBSQrc lust $1! Yes, a dollar ecch! Glenn was preceded in death by his parents and all siblings except one sister, Cletis (Douglas) Marienau and his loving wife, Donna Mae Henry. Services were held on Saturday, May 28, 2005. Ruby Moore, all of Moab, graduated in May from the Arizona State University at Tempe with a degree in engineering. Those who attended the graduation were his parents. Grandparent Lula DeLong, siblings Jeff and Luke Moore, Olivia DeLong, and Clark B. DeLong, all of Salt Lake City. Shelly Montrone and sons Cole and Garrett of Kayville, Utah were also in attendance. Jack was bom on January 7, 1929, a retired military veteran, had been living in Alsea, Oregon with his friend and caregiver, Jerry Smith at the time of his death. LDS Church.
