For most of the 51 years of their life together the Marsing family resided in Moab with their two children, Larry Bert (Lynnae) Marsing and Janet Kay (Mark) Benton, who are both are now residents of the Salt Lake City area. Connie worked for the First Security Bank in Moab and also as a secretary for McFarland and Hullinger Trucking. But the job she most loved was making a home for her family. The Marsing family lived an active life enjoying many camping and fishing trips and being outdoors. The time spent at family gatherings and holidays were always Connies most cherished. To her family and friends, Connies unyielding compassion will forever be remembered as one of her many outstanding characteristics. This is Radio Road When the TOP of the S Curve is reached, a road heads west. This goes to a great overlook of the Tenmile Canyon Country, 600 to 800 feet below, in about a mile. A fork left goes to a high point having a daring old dugway into an area that was extensively surface-mine- d during WWII. The country immediately below and southward is the area traveled by the trail prior to the S earlier-mentione- d Curve. The old dugway may be taken by hikers, bicycles, motorcycles, ATVs and raised and lockered Jeeps. This 12 mile trip is extremely worthwhile, however taken, as views from here are widest and most outstanding. There is another road 14 mile farther along Dubinky Road that also heads west to the rim in about a mile. It is much rougher due to It goes first to an overlook, then follows the rim to end at a quarter-mile- , Prominence Point. Views north and west are intriguing. A point hike northward of about 12 mile, furnishes grand views into the main northern drainway ofthe north rims. An earlier, right branch of this rim road leads to beautiful overlooks of the colorful upper Main Drain, or Rainbow Wash. The rim seen northward is reached by a short drive off Dubinky Road about 3.7 miles from top of the S Curve. Here, the vehicle is parked about halfway out and a HIKE is taken, angling southwest and up a gentle incline to the rim. What a view; below, west and northward! Where time is limited, this is the most spectacular of all the Rainbow Rims approaches and hikes. Guess what: The beautiful rainbow-colore- d drainway seen 500 feet blow, has an access road mostly in the washbed, up to a parking place for a grand A o- may quickly notice a long, high climb out to top country may be possible. It surely appears so in the pictures we have taken. This inner access to hiking the drainway is a story of its own, and very beautiful. On our most-recetrip, we spotted some rather fresh footprints of hikers coming up from the south rims to the wide-ope- n views available off the higher part of the old surface-mined point.
