He is the oldest of five children in the family, and the only son. Marjorie (Marge) Ellen Oliver Hill, Genes wife and sweetheart, brought him to Moab in 1954. He immediately fell in love with the spectacular surroundings and people of Moab. Gene and Marge have six children, 27 grandchildren and 38 Many friends call Gene and Marge aunt and uncle because of the warm welcome and love they give to anyone who visits their home. Gene loves children; he enjoys watching babies learn to walk, children jumping on the trampoline, and also advising safety driving skills to the teenagers.
