In addition, sponsors invite young people from 25 countries to participate. There were 20 panelists taking part and 84 ambassadors from the schools in Utah. The main purpose, according to sponsors, is to teach the ambassadors how to think, not what to think. The Hugh O'Brien Youth Seminar is held every May and is a nationwide project where students meet to learn and lead. This is an effort sponsored by the General Federation of Women's Clubs of Utah and nationwide. Local sponsor is the ve national health care spending, with Medicare being the largest single payor of health care services. As hospital stays shortened in the early 1980s, the percentage of Medicare patients discharged to home health care increased in 1981 to 17.9 in from 9.1 1985. In many cases, home care is a service, not only of individuals recuperating for a hospital stay but also for those who, because of a functional or cost-effecti- ve cognitive disability, are unable to take care of themselves. Services delivered by the home health agency are based upon specific needs, as determined by the patients physician in conjunction with the patient andor their family. Staff members of home health agencies provide a wide range of care. Registered nurses have numerous assignments, 'which may include assessments, wound care, administration of injections and I.V. medications, blood draws for laboratory tests and care for the terminally ill. Home health aides are available to assist patients with area of personal care that they may not be able to perform for themselves, such as bathing, hair and skin care, meal preparation, light housekeeping and even shopping. Physical therapists can provide professional guidance to patients who have been discharged from the hospital, but have a need for continuing therapy at home. It is important to note that is npt the only rationale for home care. In fact, the best argument for home care may be that it is a humane and compassionate way to deliver health care and supportive services. Home care reinforces and supplements the care provided by family members and friends while maintaining the recipient's dignity and independence. Calvary Chapel will offer local Principals.
