Moab was down only by eight at the end of the first quarter, but were unable to keep the Hawks off the boards and went into halftime down by twenty. The Devils came out strong second half and cut the lead to only 17 points. A recent vandalism at Guidos Restaurant was brought to the chambers attention. Part of our program as the Chamber of Commerce is that we actively clean up down town and the town in general. Part of cleaning up is preventing, commented President John Fogg. At this, a proposal was presented to assist in eliminating vandalism by offering a $100 reward for information leading to the conviction of the parties involved in the vandalism. The $100 reward would either be paid from the chamber dues or another fund raiser. No final decisions were made on the proposal, but the idea is being considered. OUR PEOPLE CARE. Salt Lake City is a sister city to Matsumoto, Japan which means the two cities exchange cultural and civic ideas. The Utah Arts Traveling Exhibition has arranged for the Moab Museum to receive 40 pieces of childrens art for viewing. These special deals (such as, a flight to Moab for the weekend to play golf) would benefit both Alpine Aviation and Moab merchants. The Citizen of the Year banquet will be held January 31 at 6 p.m. Lt. Governor Val Oveson has agreed to speak at the banquet on economic development. The fee for the dinner will be $15 per person or $25 per couple. Everyone is welcome; however, there is a maximum capacity of 100 people. Early registration is suggested.
