A person need not be a combat veteran or even have served in Viet Nam for the Veterans Administration to provide coverage, said Whear. The Centers contract with the Veterans Administration is one of three awarded in the intermountain west out of over twenty applications. There is a growing recognition that Viet Nam veterans suffer from a high incidence of emotional problems and have not fully utilized V.A. Medical Centers. Reconciliation is the process by which, with the grace of God, we heal the wounds of division and misstrust, replace those attitudes which cause confusion in our personal growth and lead us away from the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. We are called upon to listen to the prophets of old and of the present and heed the living sings of Gods active concern for His people. We are all called to COME. . . .CHANGE YOUR HEART, so that the world may come . . .to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent (John 17:3). Contrary to what many people believe, an awareness of sin, evil and suffering comes not from a negative outlook, but from a realistic grasp of life. This awareness becomes a hindrance to hope only when we dwell on the sin and do not seek positive solutions. The story of Isaiahs conversion is an experience of the presence of sin, evil and its consequences. However, it is also connected to an invitatation from God to do something about the situation. God speaks to us today through our own experiences and offers us much the same challenge as that issued to Isaiah: Whom shall I send? Who will be our messenger?
