Ark. Fog and clouds lingered over most of the East Coast. The storms moved through the St. Louis area around midnight Thursday, producing 60 mph wind gusts and dropping nearly a half inch of rain. Harrison, Ark., got nearly an inch of rain in the period ending at 2 a.m. The temperature hit 82 degrees in Miami Beach before dawn and 25 at Big dipped to a Piney. Wyo. A strong low pressure system moving out of Iowa into upper Michigan was expected to produce up to 45 mph wind gusts from the upper Rockies and the northern Plains to the Great Lakes and regions, the southern Appalachians and the Tennessee River Valley. Rain showers and thunderstorms from Arkansas to the Ohio River Valley and the Appalachians to the eastern Great Lakes region could produce isolate! tornadoes.
