Products Company will be performing a petroleum cleanup at their service station, which is located at 1645 North Canyon Road, Provo, Utah. Because residual petroleum remains in the soil and groundwater, Chevron contracted Groundwater Technology to determine if cleanup was necessary. Groundwater Technology has prepared a corrective Action Plan (CAP) for submittal to the Utah Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), Division of Environmental Response and Remediation (DERR) for their approval. The CAP details remediation plans that will involve venting petroleum Vapors from the ground and emitting them to the atmosphere. Air is pulled through the ground with a vacuum blower, removing the petroleum vapors. The system will be monitored and maintained on a regular schedule. If you are interested in the activities described above, you may find a copy of the CAP on file at the Provo City Hall Recorders Office, 351 West Center Street, and at the DERR in Salt Lake City. If you have further questions re- garding the procedure, please contact the Utah DEQ project manager, Mr. 0 Dale Uiban at (801) by December 17, 536-410- 1993.
