Well, that s the way it happened for Mapleton resident Jared Murillo, anyway. Still technically a teenager, Murillo has finished touring with the stage version of the Disney Channel hit "High School Musical" and is now working with a new, boy band in Los Angeles. The n group is so new that Its name isn't trademarked, but the group's creator, Tommy Page, said the working title is "The Factory." "It doesn't sound like NSYNC, it sounds like the kind of music that's on the radio," said Page, who is a vice president of Artists and Repertoire at Warner Bros. Records. "What this group has going for it is that four of the five members are professionally trained dancers, studying all kinds of styles." Page's tentative plan is to release a single in the spring and a full album by summer, followed by a nationwide tour. The band's manager, Bill Pearlman, said Murillo is so busy recording and rehearsing for a full 2008 that he couldn't be made available to comment for eyes. The display with the most votes receives a year of free meals at KFC and a check for $3,000 to pay for him the idea to form the group in the first place. Page was impressed by one of Jared's performances on the "High School Musical" Alex Murillo Jared Murillo's father tour. He studied dance at Orem's CenteV Stage Performing Arts Studio and was named the national Youth Latin Champion last year. He's also a world and U.S. swing champion. He was a principal dancer in the TV movie "High School Musical" and was chosen as part of the touring cast last year. He spent much of his senior year of high school on the road, but completed courses online and earned his diploma. All of which led to a deal with a major record label. Oh, and he's been dating singer and "High School Musical" Ashley Tisdale for about a year. "He's had so much success in his young life," Alex Murillo said. "So in a way, he expected this kind of thing. He just goes about his work and just does it. He stays with it. He is tenacious." Pearlman also recognized those characteristics, which in addition to Jared's talents is why five-ma- co-st- this article. But Murillo is used to being that busy. His father, Alex Murillo, said Jared has been traveling and performing since he was 13. "I saw him dancing and I couldn't take my eyes off him," Page said. "When I saw that, it gave me the idea to put the group together, so officially Jared was the first member of the group." Pearlman said Jared is an extremely strong dancer and has a solid stage presence and singing voice. He and Page handicked four similar young men, ages 17 to 20, to join Jared and formed the band. electricity bills and weight loss programs. "I don't see this as a music group, I see it as an entertainment group. With this group, all five kids have their own star power, in terms of their charisma, their looks and their talent. There are no clunkers in this group." Even if their talents are similar, Jared stands out from the group in another way. See KFC is hoping for, Murillo T.
