Charles Yater, the head (UPI) of a hard luck family that s been scrambling to make ends meet, gave the last $40 he had to his wife and told her to play the $1 million Pennsylvania Lottery. She hit it. "It's just been one bad thing after another," said Susan Yater, "but we've always managed to hang on. Understand me: The marriage has been good and the family life has been fine, but this is just about the first good thing on the outside that's happened to us in the last 10 years."
